While the titles sound the same, a registered dietitian is a credentialed professional who has completed a significant amount of education and training in food and nutrition science. Credentialing consists of completing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university; Completing an accredited supervised practice program; passing a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration; keeping up-to-date with required continuing education.

A nutritionist is not a protected title therefore anyone can call themselves a nutritionist – aka, the clerk at your local health food store! A lot of nutritionist have good intentions and some do take courses in nutrition. However, only dietitians have the background to apply nutrition in a therapeutic manner that will benefit the body as a whole.

We work with individuals one-on-one to help them find a nutrition plan that works for them.

Our dietitians all bring a unique set of skills and passions to the table. When we receive your referral, we will match you with the appropriate dietitian to fit your needs. Have a preference? No problem! Just let us know who you would like to see when scheduling.

Every client is different, therefore every appointment is different! During an initial consultation, we’ll evaluate your current health and nutrition status by discussing your medical history, diet history, physical activity habits, eating behaviors, and usual food patterns and preferences.

During follow-up appointments, we’ll equip you with the tools and knowledge you need to improve your health. We’re here to support you every step of the way!

We see most of our clients on an ongoing basis, although it is not mandatory. In the beginning, we may see you more often compared to once you are in a maintenance phase where we may see you only a couple of times a year to check in.

Most insurance plans cover 100% of your nutrition counseling sessions under preventive care, so make sure to check with your insurance company. We are in-network providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Aetna, United Healthcare, and Cigna. We are contracted with Medicaid on a limited basis, therefore have limited appointments available.

Use this form to check in and out of network benefits.

Yes, you do need a referral from a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant to be seen by our dietitians regardless if you plan to use insurance or not. Your doctor can use their form, or if they request a form, you can send them ours here.

In the event that we are not in-network with your insurance plan, we can provide a medical “superbill” which is a detailed receipt for services. You can file this superbill with your insurance. Most policies offer at least partial reimbursement. If you know you do not have coverage for medical nutrition therapy, contact your insurance company and find out the steps for submitting a superbill with your policy.

We ask that you give us 24 business hours notice when canceling an appointment. We understand that sometimes circumstances prevent coming in for in-person visits and offer flexibility of telehealth visits. Having this policy in place allows us the opportunity to access our waitlist and give other patients the opportunity to be seen sooner. In the event that you do not give us a 24 hour notice, you will be charged a $25 cancellation/no-show fee that will need to be paid prior to scheduling your next appointment.

Our dietitians have experience and education in treating eating disorders that involve over eating, such as binge-eating disorder. If you are seeking care for restrictive, avoidant or purging eating disorders, contact our office and we will provide you with contact information for dietitians who specialize in this area. Our desire is to lead to you to the right resources, even if you aren’t our patient!

We believe that intuitive eating should be integrated into every nutrition plan that we provide. Intuitive eating sets the address into your GPS and a nutrition plan gives you the directions to the location. If you are looking solely for intuitive eating counseling, we can provide the contact information for dietitians in our area who specialize in this area.
